Advanced Focus 10

Today I tried the advanced focus 10 exercise. It went well, but again... nothing amazing. I was able to deeply relax, but I was unable to really feel very much energy during the energy bubble portion of the exercise. I did not blink out at all during this exercise and I finished the exercise feeling very good. I am still enjoying this quite a bit and I will continue to try and do at least 1 exercise per day.

I am not sure if it is related or not, but I did have a Lucid Dream last night. It was my first in close to a year, so it was great to have another one.

Focus 10 attempt 3

So I tried it again today. It was wierd, I was able to clearly hear the hemi-sync sound the first time that I tried it. It seems that it gets harder and harder to hear with each time I try this. This time it was barely noticable. I planned ahead this time and did not have a blanket covering my torso, so I did not have the same overheating issues that I had experienced before. I did not feel any sort of vibration this time. I had felt the "vibes" on the first two attempts but none this time. That was disappointing. I also blinked out again, as I do not remember the first half of the relaxation portion of the exercise. I did finish it feeling very awake and aware again. On one hand that is a good thing, but on the other it makes me think that I should not try this anymore before bed. I will see if there is one more appropriate for sleep time that does not wake you back up.

Overall, I would rate this a failed attempt. I think that I will try out the next exercise and see how I do with it.

More reports to follow.

Focus 10 update

Last night I tried the intro to focus 10 lesson again before I went to bed. I had the same crazy heat wave. By the end of it I completely lost focus and could not lay still anymore, I was just too hot and that was all that I could think about. All in all, I would consider that lesson a failure so I will try it again today.

More reports to follow.

Gateway Experience

Today I started the Gateway Experience (http://www.toolsforwellness.com/mt239cd.html). I will update this blog as to my progress. Today I tried the orientation tape and the intro to focus 10 tape.

Orientation tape:
It was a pleasant, relaxing experience and when I finished it I did feel very alert. It took me through focus 3 although I didn't really notice any discernible difference between when I was completely relaxed and when I was in focus 3. Most notable was just the alertness I felt when it was all done. It was also the first time that I have ever used humming to tune in my brain..... That was strange and I was apprehensive at first, but after I did it, it felt pretty interesting.

Intro to focus 10:
I must note that I was interrupted 2 minutes before I could complete it. It steps you through the 10 point total relaxation technique. I was certainly relaxed and I did end up "Clicking out" of the exercise. Clicking out is different than falling asleep, since you really don't notice any time lapse, you just kind of blink out for a few minutes. Once I came back into the exercise, I was EXTREMELY warm. My house was approx 65 degrees and I was only under 1 blanket. But I was seriously, uncomfortably warm. I could feel the sweat on my forehead and my entire core was just really warm. It ended up forcing me to take the blanket down off of my torso to cool off. I will try this exercise a few more times to try and consciously get through the entire exercise without interruption and without overheating. All in all, a very cool experience and I look forward to continuing with it.

Are you kidding me?

Yahoo top searches of the day are........
Anna Nicole Smith
Grammy Awards
Valentine's Day
Internal Revenue Service
Kate Winslet
Penelope Cruz
Beyonce Knowles
The Police

Seriously? This is what the world wants to know about..... Well, at least the people who use yahoo have their priorities in order. God knows I can't get through my day without knowing what Beyonce is up to.

World Affairs

What in the hell is going on out there? How many lies do we need to be told? What will it take for the people to stand up for what is right? Or is it too late already?

I just can't understand how close to half of this country still thinks that we should be in Iraq and that going there in the first place was a good idea.
  1. 9/11 was used to muster support by people who would normally not have agreed to such nonsense.
  2. Iraq did not send the planes into the towers.
  3. They did not pay the terrorists who plotted it.
  4. Other than being located in the Middle East, Iraq really didn't have a heck of a lot in common with the terrorists.
  5. But....but... the WMD's, that we never found.
  6. But......but....Saddam was a horrible dictator. (Saddam was tried and executed for the murder of close to 200 people. How many Iraqi people have died since we liberated them?) I am not saying he was a saint, but there are far worse atrocities occurring in the world that we turn a blind eye to.
  7. This list can go on and on, so I will stop now.

Now we are trying to build a case against Iran. With the main building block for this being that they are providing fighters and munitions to the insurgents in Iraq. What about the chemical weapons that we gave to Iraq to use against Iran during their war? What about the training we provided the Iraqi's during the same time frame. WE WERE DOING THE EXACT SAME THING! How can we blame them?

Do I like the fact that Iran is giving aid to people who are killing our troops? Absolutely not. Do I think that we would do the same thing if one of our sworn enemies were fighting in Mexico or Canada? Absolutely we would.

It is hard to blame Iran for what they are doing. War is an ugly thing. But I find so much more fault in the corrupt government that has put our troops in harms way than I do in another corrupt government that is taking advantage of an opportunity to weaken their enemy.

Government contracts to businesses with ties to the administration, billions of dollars literally lost, lies to start a war, lies about ending a war, manipulation of the public to make any criticism of the war "unpatriotic"........

I wonder how far this will go. How long it will take until the whole world has had enough. I truly pray that it won't come to that. I know that (myself included) a lot of the country is just hoping that this administration will just limit the insanity for another 2 years and that the next administration will bring some sort of integrity back to our country. Sadly though, politics is a business of corruption and the odds are strongly against any type of real reform.

Lucid Dreaming:

If anyone is interested in Lucid Dreaming, they should get themselves the book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming." http://www.amazon.com/Exploring-World-Dreaming-Stephen-LaBerge/dp/0345420128/sr=8-1/qid=1171447113/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-8570448-8766423?ie=UTF8&s=books

It is probably the best book on the subject. Many people who practice Lucid Dreaming swear by it.

Personally, I feel that Lucid Dreaming is a pretty amazing subject. Almost anyone can do it, but it takes a lot of practice and willpower to do it well. Lucid Dreaming has lead me down some interesting paths. It has opened my eyes to several subjects that I either outright dismissed as being bogus (Astral Projection, OBE, NDE.... etc) or subjects that I just hadn't put much thought into (religion, spirituality, meditation, afterlife...etc).

Lucid Dreaming could be something as simple as tricking your mind, or it could be a gateway to something bigger. I really think it gives you a glimmer of what could be possible.
